These terms govern your use of gene.zip. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
gene.zip provides genomic data compression with instant random access and byte-exact restore, via our API, CLI, and confidential cloud deployments. We may improve or change features over time.
You're responsible for keeping your API keys and credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Don't share keys or attempt to access other accounts.
You retain all rights to your data. We never sell or share your data — see our Privacy Policy. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the service for you (e.g., storing your compressed files in your bucket).
Paid usage is billed in credits ($1 = 1 credit). New accounts start with free credits. Payments are processed by Stripe. Charges for usage already incurred are non-refundable except where required by law.
We work to keep the service reliable but provide it "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance and occasional issues can happen.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, gene.zip is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can export your data before closing — see the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms; we'll update the date above and, for material changes, give notice where appropriate.
